Perovskite Solar Cell Efficiency Records Broken

Perovskite solar cells have achieved a new certified efficiency record of 26.1%, edging closer to the theoretical limit and commercial viability.

This breakthrough represents significant progress in the development of next-generation photovoltaic technologies. Perovskite cells offer advantages including low manufacturing costs, flexibility, and tunable light absorption properties.

The stability issue that has historically plagued perovskite solar cells is also being addressed through new material formulations and encapsulation techniques. Commercial products with 10+ year lifetimes are now within reach.

MapleChem provides high-purity perovskite materials including methylammonium lead iodide, formamidinium lead bromide, and related compounds for research and small-scale production.
