Types and Applications of OLED Materials

OLED devices rely on multiple specialized materials working together to produce light. Understanding these material types is essential for optimizing device performance.

Host Materials serve as the primary matrix where dopant emitters are dispersed. Common host materials include CBP, mCP, and spirofluorene derivatives.

Dopant/Emitter Materials determine the color and efficiency of the OLED. Phosphorescent dopants can achieve internal quantum efficiencies up to 100%, compared to 25% for fluorescent emitters.

Transport Materials (hole transport and electron transport layers) facilitate charge movement through the device structure. Materials like TAPC, NPB, and Bphen are widely used.

MapleChem offers a comprehensive selection of OLED materials in research and commercial quantities, with custom synthesis services available for specific requirements.
